Do You Use Fabric Conditioner When Washing Your Towels ?

Was washing the towels the other day and got to wondering, is the fabric conditioner actually doing them any good? I battle with this every time I wash towels and have done from quite an early age.

So before I go any further, do you use it on your towels?

Now there is a theory going around that you shouldn’t.

The idea is that conditioner leaves a coating on the towel. Smells lovely when it comes out of the machine, but that’s mostly just perfume sitting on top. Underneath, so the theory goes, the coating traps dirt and bacteria and stops the towel soaking up water and drying out properly. The end result is a towel that goes off quicker, which is the opposite of what your paying for !!

Mind you, a lot of this comes from the people who make and sell towels, and plenty of others would say it’s more about too much detergent or towels being left damp.

Any way, I would like to know what you think. Do you buy it?
